East Nusa Tenggara - 2023 marks the second year in which Protelindo has funded health care in NTT through the funding of the Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital (Rumah Sakit Terapung Kesatria Airlangga/ RSTKA). This year, Protelindo welcomed its business partners, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and XL Axiata, in providing health care support for citizens in West Manggarai - East Nusa Tenggara.

On the first day, Tuesday, 5 September 2023, Protelindo invited its business partner, IOH, to provide mass circumcision services and health education in Papagarang Islands, West Manggarai Regency.

"The programs offered by Ksatria Erlangga Floating Hospital (RSTKA), such as the Mass Circumcision program, are extremely beneficial to the community," commented Soejanto Prasetya, Senior VP-Head of Regional East Java & Bali Nusa Tenggara IOH.

Papagarang is a small island with a population of approximately 1,500 people that is two hours by boat from Labuan Bajo. RSTKA last visited the island in 2019. The wooden dams on the island are stunning, and the clear sea water beneath left a lasting impression on the RSTKA volunteers.

"Thank you Protelindo, I'm so happy because my son has been circumcised. He's been trying to get circumcised but it hadn’t been possible,”said Mirnawati, a parent from Papagarang Island.

The second mass circumcision event was held on Thursday, September 7, 2023. On this occasion, Protelindo invited its business partner, XL Axiata, to jointly support the event at Pasir Panjang village, Rinca Islands, West Manggarai.

“I had three major thoughts after that attending this event. The first is amazement, it is amazing what Protelindo and this floating hospital do. The second thought is that I feel small.  What I do, which is to provide network service turns out to be nothing compared to what these doctors do. Third, I am overjoyed since this action will undoubtedly benefit the residents of this community,” said Bony Hendra Wijaya Head of Sales Area NTT XL Axiata.

“We are very grateful that Protelindo continues to support the surrounding communities to improve the level of health and education in a sustainable way by collaborating with RSTKA, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) and XL Axiata. May what we do be beneficial for all of us, especially for Labuan Bajo and its surroundings,” said Indra Gunawan, Director of Protelindo.  

Protelindo will continue to help  provide the best health care possible for other islands in Indonesia through the Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital (RSTKA) and together with its business partners.
